Overview

EWD – Effluent & Water Division Waste Water Treatment

At Flow Dynamics Technical Consultancies LLC, we deliver advanced wastewater treatment solutions engineered to reduce environmental impact and maximize water reuse — a priority that matters more in the UAE than almost anywhere else. Our systems are built for efficient, reliable, long-term performance, designed around real operating conditions rather than just spec sheets.
We specialize in sewage treatment plants (STP), effluent treatment plants (ETP), and water recycling systems for municipal, commercial, and industrial applications across Dubai and the wider UAE. From concept and design through execution, commissioning, and operation, we deliver complete turnkey wastewater treatment solutions tailored to each project — including compact, modular, and containerized systems suited to the UAE’s dense urban developments and space-constrained sites.

Our Treatment Process

1. Primary Treatment

Wastewater passes through settling tanks where heavy solids are removed and oils and grease are separated, improving efficiency for the treatment stages that follow.

2. Secondary Treatment

This stage removes dissolved and organic impurities through biological treatment. We offer multiple advanced technologies selected to suit project size, site constraints, and effluent quality targets required by Dubai Municipality and local authorities:
Each system is designed for high treatment efficiency, low operating cost, and long-term durability under UAE operating conditions.

Activated Sludge Process (ASP)

Activated Sludge Process (ASP) One of the most widely used biological wastewater treatment methods, removing organic pollutants (BOD, COD) using micro-organisms under aerobic conditions.

Key Benefits:

MBBR (Moving Bed Bio Reactor) Process

MBBR (Moving Bed Bio Reactor) Process An advanced biological treatment process using plastic media carriers that grow biofilm (micro-organisms) and move freely within the aeration tank.

Key Benefits:

MBR (Membrane Bio Reactor) Process

MBR (Membrane Bio Reactor) Process An advanced technology combining biological treatment with membrane filtration. Instead of a secondary clarifier, MBR uses membranes to separate treated water from biomass — producing effluent quality suitable for high-grade reuse applications.

Key Benefits:

SBR (Sequential Batch Reactor)

SBR (Sequential Batch Reactor) A variant of the activated sludge process that treats wastewater in batch mode (time-based operation) rather than continuous flow, with all treatment steps occurring in a single tank at different times.

Key Benefits:

UASB System

The Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) system treats wastewater using anaerobic microorganisms that form a dense, granular sludge blanket inside the reactor. As wastewater flows upward through this blanket, the microorganisms break down organic matter, producing biogas as a natural by-product — all without the need for external aeration.

Key Benefits:

3. Tertiary Treatment

Multi Grade Filter (MGF)

Multi Grade Filter (MGF) A pressure sand filter with multiple layers of graded sand and gravel that removes suspended solids, turbidity, and dirt. Water passes through the media layers where impurities are trapped, delivering clean water at the outlet; the filter is cleaned via backwashing to maintain performance.

Key Benefits:

Activated Carbon Filter (ACF)

Activated Carbon Filter (ACF) Uses specially treated carbon media to remove contaminants through adsorption — highly effective against chlorine, odor, taste, and organic impurities (VOCs).

Key Benefits:

4. Polishing Stage

Treated water undergoes advanced filtration and disinfection using UF (Ultrafiltration), RO (Reverse Osmosis), and disinfection systems, producing high-quality treated sewage effluent (TSE) suitable for:

5. Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD)

Our Zero Liquid Discharge systems ensure that no wastewater is released into the environment. These systems recover maximum water for reuse and convert waste into solid form — ideal for industries operating under the UAE’s strict discharge regulations, and for projects seeking to eliminate ongoing tanker-based waste disposal costs.

Applications

Our wastewater treatment solutions are widely deployed across:

Prefabricated Wastewater Treatment Solutions

Our prefabricated wastewater treatment solutions are engineered to provide a reliable, compact and efficient approach to modern wastewater management. Available in MS-FRP, prefabricated and containerised configurations, these systems are factory-engineered and quality-controlled to enable faster installation, efficient deployment and reduced site requirements.

Designed to suit diverse project requirements, our modular solutions offer flexibility in capacity, configuration and installation, while maintaining consistent treatment performance and operational reliability.
